Jacobite rising 1708

In response to the unpopular union, a French fleet brought the son and Catholic heir of King James to the Firth of Forth in an attempt to raise a rebellion. Poor weather meant that the French forces were unable to land and the ships were driven away from shore. No \'rising\' in any real sense occurred, despite the propitious timing.
