Ponyboy coms too late to his home. Johnny and Dally come not to the fight versus the Socs. Dally are not sure if Ponyboy comes to the fight. But Sodapop meants, that Ponyboy gos to the fight. Darry says okay, also Ponyboy goes to the fight but Ponyboy must cry, when he has some problems. When the greasers come to the Checkpoint, the rest are waiting for they.
One of the Brunkly Boys asks the greasers: "Had you killed Bob." Ponyboy says yes.The Brumly Boys shout Darry to they. Ponyboy feels, that no greaser come to the fight, because the greasers are not belong together. For the fight come 22 people from the Socs and 20 people from the greasers. They deal the rules.
The fight begin. After a long time, the Socs go away and the greasers have win the fight. One Soc have three break ribs and Darry have a black eye. Dally and Ponyboy run, after the fight, to Johnny in the hospital. One Doctor says to they: "You can't go to him, because he lie to die." Ponyboy and Dally can still go to him.
When they are in Johnny's room, say Ponyboy and Dally that they win the fight.Johnny say that fights are not good and that the fights are useless. Dally says to Johnny, that he is a hero (Newspapper). That make Johnny happy. Johnny are dad. Dally is teary, beat toward a wall and go outside from the room and weep.
