He was born on February 25th, 1943 in Liverpool. He played the guitar and he sang. He joined the group "The Quarry Men" with John Lennon and Paul McCartney. He met the model Pattie Boyd, and they married in January 21st in 1966. George met Ravi Shankar and Mahareshi Yogi. From Ravi , George learned to love Indian music and play the sitar. From Yogi he learned spiritual inner peace and meditation.
George, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Roy Orbinson formed the "Travelling Willburys in 1988. The group was a big success. (ein Lied von den Wilburys)
