Indirekte rede



Steht der Einführungssatz in einer Zeitform der Vergangenheit (z.B. Past Tense, Past Perfect) so ändert sich die Zeitform in der indirekten Rede nach folgendem Muster:

Present Simple Past Simple

Present Continous Past Continous

Present Perfect Simple Past Perfect Simple

Present Perfect Continous Past Perfect Continous

Past Simple Past Perfect Simple

Past Continous Past Perfect Continous

Will Future Conditional (would+Infinitive)



\"I like walking in the Lake Derek said (that) he liked walking in the

District.\" Lake District.

\"John is playing football.\" I thought (that) John was playing football.

\"Have you seen him recently?\" I wondered if you had seen him recently

\"I have been working all He told me he had been working all

afternoon\". afternoon.

\"My brother visited the USA in Pat's parents belived (that) she had

1986.\" visited the USA in 1986.

\"We were playing cards the They replied (that) they had been

whole evening.\" playing cards the whole evening.

\"I'll ring you next week.\" I promised (that) I would ring her the

following week.



Bei der Umwandlung der direkten in die indirete Rede verändert sich Orts- und Zeitangaben, wenn der ursprüngliche Orts- und Zeitbezug für den Berichterstatter nicht mehr zutrifft.

z.B. tomorrow the next day / following day; last year the day before;

this week that week.

Jenny (in Oxford) Brain (in Bostel)

\"The exams are being held here\" Jenny told me the exams were being held

there (in Oxford)

Judy (on Sunday) Philip (on Wenesday)

\"I am going to the judo club Judy told me (on Sunday) that she was

tomorrow\" going to the judo club the following day.



Questions in indirect speech

Fragen werden in der indirekten Rede zu Nebensätzen mit Fragewort ( when, where, etc. Oder if = ob). Die Wortstellung bei diesen Nebensätzen ist Subjekt - Prädikat ( keine Umstellung von Hilfsverben und Subjekt, keine do- Umschreibung). Wenn der Einführungssatz in einer Zeitform der Verbgangenheit steht, so ändert sich die Zeitform wie oben.



\"When did you start playing the His fans often ask him he started playing

guitar?\" the guitar.

\"Are you giving a concert?\" Rick asked if we were giving a concert.

The imperativ in indirect speech

\"Don't come late:\" Harry told us not to come late.

\"Give it to me.\" She asked me to give it to her



Aufforderungssätze werden in der indirekten Rede in Infinitivkonstruktionen umgewandelt.
